Transition - The Project


Physical scars, psychological injuries
and fear of dying are cancer‘s trustful
companions.

Especially women suffer under the loss
of confidence in their own body, a femininity
thought lost.

Through this project with its very sensual photographies the photographer Gerhard
Zerbes can open a door of new insights and a different view on the womens‘ bodies.

They can see, they are beautiful despite their scars, there is no loss of their femininity and their sensuality. The affected women
were able to accept their bodies in a self-loving way and to reconcile with their destiny.The project‘s main goal ist to share this
unusual experience with other affected women and to help in an exceptional way.

Cancer survivors took all their courage and chose this personal way of coping. Most of them joined the project to encourage
other patients and to show their regained sense of beauty.

Each one of them experienced a change!
